Homosexuality in Society

Homosexuality, we must admit, has always been existing in our society, in ancient time and modern nowadays.  They were tolerated or ignored by the Christian church throughout Europe.  We can trace back to the 12th century that people showed their hostility to be viewed as “unnatural”.  In19th century, medicine and psychiatry were introduced to plea with religion and law over sexuality.  But it still is seen as a crime and a sin by conservative societies in some countries. Today whether homosexuality is right and wrong depends on the basic culture of the societies which also are undergoing debate and review. (Ratrriax, (December 29, 2006) An In Depth Look at Homosexuality in Society)  For instance, Louisa Wall, who was a former Black Fern, admitted in her article she wrote for "Gay Expression" that she is a lesbian and also revealed that there are also other players being accepted in their community. (Gay Expression, 21 Sept - 04 Oct 2011, Issue #509, The foundation of my lesbian identity has been based around my sport, page 12-13)
